Lines
| line | meaning |
|---|---|
material NAME dark #RRGGBB light #RRGGBB shades N keys CHARS | one material: N shades derived between the two anchors, inclusive, with one key per shade in CHARS, darkest first |
transparent KEY | the key for empty pixels, usually . |
# ... | a comment |
Rules
shadesis 3 to 6, the range vanilla materials use.- The light anchor must be lighter than the dark one, by at least 15 OKLab lightness units.
- Shades are interpolated in OKLCH, so you never type an interior shade.
- Keys and material names must be unique across the whole file.
#cannot be a key: it starts a comment.
Output
texturescript palette FILE.palette prints a palette section, ready to paste at the top of a
grid:
palette
. transparent
# leaf: 4 shades #266325 -> #55ab2d
# leaf: dark L44 C11 h143, light L66 C18 h138; vanilla foliage: dark L31-57, light L45-79, chroma <= 24
a #266325
b #347a2a
c #43922d
d #55ab2d
The second comment line gives each anchor's OKLCH lightness and chroma (×100) and hue in degrees, beside the envelope measured on vanilla ramps of the same class: foliage, cool or warm produce. It warns when an anchor is outside.
Re-paste the section into every grid after you change an anchor. stages checks every declared
key against the exact generated colour.
